Learn more about Minot’s rich Scandinavian culture with artifacts, exhibits and architectural replicas from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland. View a real grass roof Stabbur, a replica Stave Church from Gol, Norway, a Danish Windmill, and a 25-foot Dala Horse from Sweden.
Dakota Territory Air Museum
Explore the Minot region’s legacy of military aviation service and history through a fascinating collection of photographs, literature, periodicals and memorabilia. You’ll also get an up close look at military, vintage and civilian aircraft on display.
ND State Fairgrounds & All Seasons Arena
The North Dakota State Fairgrounds features 188 acres of show and livestock facilities. In addition to the North Dakota State Fair, this facility hosts horse and livestock shows, auto and machinery expos, concerts, car races, RV rallies and more.
Old Soo Depot Transportation Museum and Western History Research Center
Explore the history of transportation in the American West. With exhibits on railroads, automobiles, buses and aviation housed in the beautifully restored 1912 Soo Line Depot building, this is one of the top museums in North Dakota.
Minot State University
The Northern Plains Inn is just three and a half miles from Minot State University, making us the perfect choice of hotels for university family, friends and alumni and travelers doing business or attending a sporting event on campus.
Minot Air Force Base
Though the base is closed to non-military personnel, it does offer occasional open houses that welcome the public to learn about Air Force preparedness, the base’s role in national security, its weapon systems and capabilities, and the Air Force culture. Private base tours are considered on a case-by-case basis.
In addition to offering free skating sessions, this indoor ice arena hosts birthday parties, wedding receptions, dinners, professional wrestling, game fairs, pancake breakfasts and more. During the summer, it’s the only ice rink open in western North Dakota.
